The project
Cooperation between Sardinian authorities and Sidi Bouzid supports urban waste collection and management. The project combines institutional exchange with environmental education in Tunisian schools, involving young people in caring for their local area.
Description
The project supports the Tunisian municipality of Sidi Bouzid in urban waste collection and management, combining institutional cooperation with environmental education. The Union of Municipalities of Meilogu leads a partnership involving Sant’Andrea Frius and Tunisian institutions. By June 2024, nine sessions on environmental issues and waste collection had been completed in schools in Sidi Bouzid. Institutional visits and school involvement linked cooperation between administrations with citizen participation. Co-funded by the Sardinian regional government under Regional Law 19/1996, the initiative connects practical municipal service needs with greater environmental awareness among younger generations.
