The project
Municipal networks promoting parks, landscapes and local identities. New perspectives for existing town twinnings.
Description
PARK grew from cooperation between Focus Europe and Legautonomie to renew relationships between Italian municipalities and their European twin towns. The project adopted a broad understanding of parks, bringing together environmental, economic, social, tourism and cultural dimensions. Through Europe for Citizens, it promoted territorial networks able to develop joint proposals and explore funding opportunities. Parks and other locally significant areas became a focus for European cooperation, linking heritage and communities with development prospects and giving existing twinning relationships a shared field of work.
