The project
European education for students at IIS Sergio Atzeni in Capoterra, supported by Focus Europe and funded by Fondazione di Sardegna. Learning about EU institutions and opportunities culminated in a study visit to Brussels involving 14 students.
Description
The project introduced students at IIS Sergio Atzeni in Capoterra to the history of European integration, the work of the EU institutions and the learning and career opportunities available to young people. Promoted by the school with support from Focus Europe, it combined educational preparation with direct encounters with the European institutions. A study visit to Brussels involved 14 students and included the European Parliament, the European Committee of the Regions and the European Economic and Social Committee. Discussions with institutional representatives and officials explored the relationship between European decisions, local communities and everyday life. Funded under Fondazione di Sardegna’s 2021 School Call, the initiative used European education to support informed citizenship and young people’s future choices.
