The project
Practical support for small and medium-sized cities implementing integrated decarbonisation plans. Five pilot cities in four European countries work on governance, local engagement, investment and impact assessment.
Description
IMPRESSIVE-DECARB supports small and medium-sized cities in turning their energy transition plans into coordinated action. It builds on existing local strategies, combining technical expertise, administrative capacity and the participation of local stakeholders. The five pilot cities are Caltagirone, Ploče, Nenagh, Saku and Rapla. Activities address cooperation across sectors and levels of government, sustainable financing models, and the environmental, social and economic effects of decarbonisation. Lessons from the pilots will inform training, peer exchanges and mentoring for other European cities. The consortium brings together fifteen organisations, including local authorities, research bodies, energy agencies and specialised organisations.
Objectives and activities
Support five pilot cities in the integrated implementation of decarbonisation plans.
Engage residents, public authorities, businesses and investors in designing actions.
