Active citizenship and cooperation among remote and border municipalities. Participation and European belonging were central.
Description
EU-BOR promoted a network of municipalities located in remote areas or along the borders of the European Union. Supported by Europe for Citizens, it involved partners from Albania, Macedonia, Greece and Italy. The project aimed to strengthen a sense of belonging to Europe and support inclusive integration through active citizenship. Cooperation between territories provided a shared setting for discussing their relationship with the Union, with particular attention to communities living far from major centres or in border areas and their participation in European civic life.
