The project
Corkalangianus promotes cork and cork oak landscapes as environmental, productive and cultural resources for Gallura. Delivered by Focus Europe, the project builds knowledge of the value chain and connects biodiversity, culture and local development.
Description
Corkalangianus highlighted cork as an environmental, productive and cultural resource for Calangianus and the Gallura area. Funded by Fondazione di Sardegna and delivered by Focus Europe, the project promoted knowledge of the value chain, from production to processing and marketing. Documented activities include a film about cork by Paolo Barone, presented publicly in May 2022. The initiative connected natural heritage, biodiversity and local development, recognising cork oak landscapes and local skills as important assets for cultural, tourism and environmental promotion. Its approach linked the area’s distinctive identity with the economic and ecological value of cork.
