The project
Oliena and Oliana explore singing, dance and popular traditions through European town twinning. Their 2026 exchanges involve cultural groups and young people, leaving a shared symbol in Lussugliu, a giant figure created through cooperation between the two communities.
Description
BCG connects Oliena and Oliana through traditional singing, dance and community celebrations. The project involves cultural groups, craftspeople and young people in exchanges centred on intangible cultural heritage. In 2026, visits took place during Oliana’s Festa Major and Oliena’s Cortes Apertas. The jointly created giant figure Lussugliu provides a lasting expression of this cooperation. Focus Europe supports the Municipality of Oliena with project development, activity documentation, reporting and dissemination.
