CONNECTING CITIES AND BUILDING SUCCESS

GENERAL FEATURES:
URBACT is a European exchange and learning programme promoting sustainable urban development. The programme enables CITIES to work together to develop solutions to major urban challenges, reaffirming the key role they play in facing increasingly complex societal changes. URBACT help cites to develop pragmatic SOLUTIONS that are new and sustainable, and that integrate economic, social and environmental dimensions. The programme enables cities to SHARE good practices and lessons learned with all professionals involved in urban policy throughout Europe. URBACT is 300 cities, 29 countries and 5,000 active participants. URBACT is jointly financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund) and the Member States.

MILE: MANAGING MIGRATION AND INTEGRATION AT LOCAL LEVEL - CITIES AND REGIONS

Theme: Active inclusion

Mile seeks to establish a thematic partnership network of 9 Cities and its Managing Authorities, which is based on the need to develop an integrated exchange programme relating to the theme of "Managing migration and Integration at local level - Cities and Regions (MILE)". The overall goal of the project is to assist partner cities to develop and identify good practice project proposals for possible funding from ERDF, ESF or other EU or National sources of funding. Mile is based on the need to develop an integrated exchange programme focussing on the definition of a Local Action Plan relating to the theme of Managing migration and Integration at local level.
For this purpose, the project will address and develop the three following agreed subthemes:

  • Enterprise development
  • Active inclusion in the labour market
  • Access to services and intercultural dialogue

Programma Urbact II

URBACT II è un programma europeo di cooperazione interregionale finanziato dal Fondo Europeo di Sviluppo Regionale (FESR) per favorire lo scambio di esperienze tra città europee diffondendo le conoscenze acquisite in materia di sviluppo urbano sostenibile. Il Programma Urbact II rappresenta la continuazione del programma di iniziativa comunitaria Urbact I creato nel 2002 al fine di mettere in rete le città beneficiarie di programmi europei a carattere urbano e di consentire lo scambio di esperienze grazie alla definizione di reti tematiche.
